Issue 1

2. A hidden man stands in the center of a crater with palms outstretched. The dark monsters rush him from all sides. Narration: “Piercing Shrieks”
3. The man hangs his head defeated. The monsters crowd around him forebodingly. Narration: “A hopeless face” Man: “Erin”
4. The man is attacked by all of the monsters in a frenzy. He reaches to the sky in pain. Narration: “A cry for help” Man: “Help me please!” Man: “Help me...”
1. A short haired woman starts awake in bed. She has a beauty mark close to her right cheek. An elderly woman sits by her bedside. Jenifer: “Erin!” Erin: “Gasp!”
2. Erin sits up in her bed looking perplexed. Jenifer leans forward, concerned. Jenifer: “Please... it's only a dream. You have to stop Yelling!” Erin: “I'm sorry Jenifer...” Jenifer: “The nightmare again?”
3. Close up of Jenifer, looking concerned. Erin: “Yes. I saw his face... I saw Jakes face.” Jenifer: “But he's dead Erin. Your husband is dead!”
4. Wide shot from outside a cabin looking inside. It's raining. Erin: “It was so... it-- It was so real Jen. My Jake.”
5. Erin lies back down again Jenifer: “Please, go to bed. We mustn't wake them...” Narration: “Just a dream” Narration: “And yet...”
1. One half of a double page spread. Lightning strikes the night sky. The landscape is a dry and barren desert. Narration: “It had seemed so real.”
1. A short haired man is running for his life and looking over his shoulder terrified. His shirt has tears and the sleeves have been ripped off. 1. Medium shot of the man as he sprins for his life. Terrified man: “Can't be much further!”
2. A wide shot of the man reaching the crest of a hill. The moon shines on a valley that shows the shadowed structure of a bunker. Terrified man: “An outpost bunker.”
3. An armoured monster appears at the back of the terrified man, grabbing him by the back of the shirt. The monster has skeletal features and menacingly large teeth. Additionally he wears armoured pouldrens. Word art 'RAAAAR' is large in the frame. Sound effect: RAAAAR Terrified man: “No!”
1. The terrified man delivers a two handed punch to the monster who takes it on the chin. Wordart 'KRAK' is large in the frame Sound effect: KRAK
2. The monster who has been struck wipes away blood from his mouth. Another monster appears from behind. Monster: “Why do they run?” Monster 2: “Amusing. They always run.”
3. The terrified man backs away from two monsters who stalk closer. Terrified man: “W-why are you chasing me?! What do you want?”
4. The monster bears his sharp claws. He is grinning with amused pleasure. In the background is a shadowed second monster. Monster: “The exercise.” Narration: “The bunker” Narration: “So close...”
1. The terrified man makes a dash for it, sprinting away from two monsters left in shadow. He has a terrified expression. Narration: “-- I can make it!”
2. The monster leaps forward and slashes at the mans back. Blood can be seen spraying from the lunge and a sound effect 'SHHHLING' is large in frame. The terrified man falls forward with a shocked expression. Monster: “Feeble!” Sound effect: SHHHLING
3. A close up of the man falling to the ground and hitting his face. Terrified man: “OoOf”
4. The monster grabs the man by the hair and lifts his head from the ground. The monster looks stern but indifferent while the terrified man looks pained. Monster: “Look at the refuge you seek--”
5. A wide shot of the bunker which we now see has been destroyed. The roof has caved in and the walls are destroyed in sections. Monster: “-- We destroyed it weeks ago. Look upon the ruin, it is all you will come to know.”
6. A top down shot. The monster looms over the terrified man, who is moments from losing consciousness. Monster: “You will soon learn to call us Master, as the rest of your kind have.”
7. A black frame. Narration: “Take him.” Narration: “He will make a good slave--”
1. A wide establishing shot of a forrest with a clearing containing several houses and barns. A fense can be seen sectioning off a field of some sort. Narration: “-- Once he is broken.”
2. Two men toiling in a field. In the background a man is swinging a pickaxe while in the foreground a man is digging with a shovel.
3. A young boy pumps water at a well, filling his bucket. He is wearing a tunic and trousers tucked into high boots that come up to his knees. He has a triangular face and mid length hair. Sound effect: SQUIT SQUIT
4. The boy struggles to carry the bucket and has a strained look on his face. Wordart 'SPLOSH' is large in the frame. Sound effect: SPLOSH
5. A wide shot of a double story wooden house surrounded by barren trees with no leaves. Approaching the house is the boy, carrying the bucket of water.
6. Inside of the house. The frame is largely black, with contrasting white depicting the open doorway and a window. In the background is the boy silhouetted in the doorway, carrying the bucket. In the foreground is an older woman lying on the ground with glazed white eyes. Boy: “Grandma, I've fetched some water. Have we got any vegetables for a ste-- G-GRANDMA?”
7. Grandma: “* Indecypherable magical characters *”
1. The boy picks up his grandma from the floor. Boy: “Grandma, what's wrong?” Grandma: “* Indecypherable magical characters * -- S-Sebastian?” Seb: “Yes, It's me. Another hallucination?”
2. The woman bends her head down. Scattered around her are veiled and cryptic images of a man whos features are depicted mainly in white. Grandma: “A vision, Seb. I saw things to come. A great many things to come.” Grandma: “I saw the man in white.” Grandma: “He's getting closer.”
1. Sebastian stands irritated. The grandma sits with her head hung. Seb: “Man in white? The one who will save us all?” Seb: “You've been having these 'visions' for years now, he's not coming Grandma.” Seb: “He's not coming, because he dows not exist! You need to accept that.”
2. Close up of the grandma with her head hung. Grandma: “I don't believe it.”
3. Seb has his arms outstretched and he's yelling. Seb: “Slaves like us, we don't get saved. We escape or we die!”
4. A wide shot of the empty house. In the foreground sits the grandma and in the background Seb is silhouetted by the doorway as he leaves. Grandma: “Where are you going?” Seb: “To look for some food!”
5. A close up of Grandma with her eyes shut, head slightly hung. Grandma: “You will believe, my Seb. I have seen it.”
1. A wide shot fo the town. Erin stans in the foreground handing some clothing while seb walks down the thoroughfare kicking the ground, hands in his pockets, head hung.
2. Erin, mid way to hanging some clothes looks at Seb over her shoulder. Seb is skulking by with his head hung. Erin: “Sebastian?”
3. Close up of Erin looking concerned. Erin: “Sebastian, what's the matter?”
4. A close up of Seb, looking moody. Seb: “It's --”
5. In the foreground, seb has his head slightly hung and his eyes are closed. In the background Erin looks questioningly. Seb: “-- It's my Grandmother. I think she's getting sicker. She keeps hallucinating.” Erin: “Did you ever think they weren't hallucinations?”
6. A wide shot. Erin and Seb are silhouetted. Sebs arms are wildly gesticulating as he yells. Seb: “Not you too Erin, she's crazy!” Seb: “Nothing she's ever 'seen' has ever come true.” Seb: “We're still enslaved by the Dentark, just like we will be tomorrow and the day after that.”
1. Medium shot of Erin. Her arms are crossed, her eyes are closed and she has a patient expression. Erin: “I know it's hard to swallow but what if she's right.” Erin: “Most of us here have given up on hope. your grandmothers visions do a great deal for moral.”
2. Medium shot of Seb, wildly throwing his arms wide, agitated. Seb: “I refuse to believe that our enslavement will magically disappear with the appearance of this 'myterious saviour'.” Seb: “We are the only ones in control of our future, erin.” Seb: “No one is coming to save us.”
3. Long shot with Erin and Seb in silhouette. Erin is reaching out to Seb. Erin: “I've heard this kind of talk before. Usually right before an escape attempt.” Erin: “I hope you're not planning on doing something silly, seb...”
4. Close up of Erin and Seb. Erin is concerned while Seb has his eyes shut in frustration, head slightly bowed. Seb: “I'm not crazy. No one escapes this place and lives through the night. I know that.” Seb: “Besides...”
5. Seb looks over his shoulder at something with a concerned expression Seb: “-- It's not me you need to worry about.”
6. A wide shot of a field. In the distance is a small figure standing in the wind.
7. A close up of Jenifer with a far gaze, Narration: “Jenifer”
1. A dark sky filled with fluxing energy. Narration: “Elsewhere” Terrified man: “This place.”
2. The terrified man is extending his hand towards the sky and the flux that flashes overhead. Terrified man: “I've been here before.”
3. A close up of the terrified man as he looks down with a surprised expression on his face. Sound effect: CRUNCH Terrified man: “wha--”
4. Wide shot of the man looking at the ground with a shocked expression. Energy fluxes in the dark sky and scattered around him are skeletons and destruction. Terrified man: “So much death.”
1. The man looks up to the sky suprised as a mysterious voice rings out. Mysterious voice: “David”
2. Close up of mans face, terrified. Terrified man: “That voice...”
3. Medium shot of the man bent inwards, holding his head in his hands. Terrified man: “All in my head. Not real.”
4. The man sprints away from the voice. Mysterious voice: “I sense your struggle David. I know your fears.”
5. Wide shot of man running. Bones are scattered along the ground. Terrified man: “Leave me alone!”
6. He is depicted in silhouette as he runs. A dark presence moves past him in the sky. Terrified man: “Not real. Can't be real...”
7. A dark mysterious figure with thorns protruding from his skull, silhouetted in black rises in front of the man, halting him from his sprint. Mysterious voice: “You can't run from me forever!”
1. A Dentark hunter slaps David across the face. Large wordart reads 'Smack'. The terrified man is tied to a tree. Dentark Hunter: “Keep quiet!”
2. A second and third Dentark hunter skulk. Dentark 2: “It's not far to the village. We'll break him there.” Dentark 3: “This one irritates me, let's kill him and be done with this hunt.”
3. Close up of Dentark hunter 1 Dentark Hunter: “You're beginning to sound like Klistro, with all that talk about slaughtering Humans.”
4. Medium shot of the three hunters. Hunter 1 is in the foreground and the other two standing behind. The first hunter has his arms outstretched. Dentark Hunter: “If all I wanted was to kill humans, I never would have joined Ter'asanil and become a Dentark.”
5. Close up of the terrified mans face in profile. His eyes are barely open and his nose is bloodied. Dentark Hunter: “I wonder if the king will see as we have, that we are meant to rule these humans as their Gods. Not slaughter them like animals.”
6. From the shadows of the trees appears a large Dentark with large round pouldrens and cape. Ter'asanil: “You are not to speak of these things in front of the Human.” Dentark Hunter: “Ter'asanil”
7. Close up of Ter'asanil's face with a frustrated expression. Ter'asanil: “The village is just beyond this rise. There will soon be time to talk candidly.”
1. In the foreground Jenifer wakes from sleep. Jenifer sits at the end of her bed staring out the window. Erin: “Jenifer?”
2. Close up of Jenifer continues staring out the window.
3. Close up of Erin looking concerned and reaching out towards Jenifer. Erin: “What are you doing awake still?”
4. Jenifer, silhouetted in the foreground speaks to Jenifer, in the background. Jenifer: “Do you remember life... before all this?” Erin: “Life before the dark creatures? I remember I was happy, I had a good life. I try not to think about it.” Erin: “Why are you talking about this Jen?”
5. Close up of the back of Jenifers head. Some details are hit by the light buy mostly is sitting in shadow. Jenifer: “I had a child. A little baby girl... Samantha”
6. A close up of Jenifer as she turns her face, lit partially by the moon light. Jenifer: “She was only three years old when the Dark Creatures first appeared.”
1. Close up in the foreground, Jenifer looks into nothingness and has a defeated expression. In the background Erin looks concerned. Erin: “A child? I never knew. Why haven't you ever talked about her before?” Jenifer: “Today would have been her eighteenth birthday.” Erin: “Come on Jen. Try not to think about it. We can't change the past.”
2. Jenifer in the foreground and Erin in the background. Jenifer: “I wonder what she would look like if she were still alive.” Erin: “I'm sure she would have been beautiful, Jen. Like her Mother.”
3. Jenifer is bent over with her eyes shut. She has a grieved expression. Jenifer: “The slaughtered her, Erin. They broke into our house and they slaughtered her.”
4. Extreme close up of Erin. Her eye is wide with shock.

4. Erin pulls the sheets away as she gets out of bed in a panic. Erin: “Jen!?”

6. Exterior wide of the house. Some of the forest and farm land can be seen in the background and the edge of the frame. Erin: “Wherever you are...”
1. Exterior top down shot looking down at a silhouetted sprinting Jenifer. In the foreground is a forest tree with a bird sitting in the branch. Narration: “I hope you make it.” Jenifer: “Huff Huff”
2. Jenifer bracing her face as she pushes through foliage of a tree.

3. Medium shot of the mysterious hunter as Jenifer grabs his arm in desperation. Jenifer: “Thank God, please you have to help. Dentart are right behind me.”
4. The hunter leaps into a tree and then leaps away into the distance.
5. Medium shot of Jenifer left alone. She is in silhouette. Jenifer: “H-he, he left.”
6. The hunter is in a tree. We see from top down what he sees on the empty forrest floor. Narration: “How far do you expect her to get, before she's caught?” Narration: “A mile? Two?”
7. The hunter is in a tree. We see from top down what he sees on the forrest floor. Three Dentark prowl after Jenifer. Narration: “I'm sorry, but you're going to have to face the facts.”
8. Close up of the mysterious hunters face with an indifferent expression. Narration: “She's gone, and there's no way we can help her now.”
1. Erin sits on the floor, slumped and upset. Seb sits beside her, looking back at her over his shoulder. Erin: “I-I know Seb, I just feel so awful. She was needy, she drove me up the wall... but she kept me going.” Erin: “We kept each other going. What am I going to do now?”
2. Close up of Seb, turning to look at Erin. Seb: “When my parents were killed and I was enslaved by the Dentark, I was so scared.” Seb: “You’ve always been there for me, like a second mum.”
3. Close up of Erin, smiling softly at Seb. Seb: “Let me repay the favor. Let me be there for you.”
4. There is a knock at the door. Seb looks up in alarm. Sound effect: Knock knock Seb: “Someone’s here... I had better go, if I’m caught in here I’ll be punished.”
5. Seb climbs out of the window.
6. The window, now empty.
7. Seb looks back in through the window. Seb: “Erin...” Seb: “Be careful.”
1. Erin opens the front door as someone knocks. Sound effect: Knock knock, knock knock
2. A towering Dentark in armour stands in the doorway, looking down at Erin. Ter'asanil: “Fetch your master, slave.” Erin: “T-Ter'asanil. Yes... r-right away.”
3. A hooded Dentark pushes in through the door, shoving Erin to the floor. Dentark Hunter: “Out of my way, wretched slave.”
4. Close up of Erin, wincing as she hits the floor. Erin: “Oof” Master: “Ter'asanil, tell me how the hunt went.”
5. Erin's master greets the Dentark. Master: “Slave, fetch us some meat.”
1. Erin prepares meat at the table, listening. Ter'asanil: “We came across a trail on our way into the village.”
2. Ter'asanil talks with the master. Ter'asanil: “It seems one of your slaves attempted to escape sometime in the night. She made it past the river Grogosimos.”
3. Erin freezes, wide eyed. Ter'asanil: “For a female her size, she did quite well.”
4. Outside the house, the sun over the hills. Ter'asanil: “I think you've been feeding them too much, or they've been sneaking rations.”
5. Close up of Jenifers head, impaled on a spike. Master: “Punishments will be swift.”
6. Extreme close up of Erin's eye as a tear runs down her cheek. Erin: “Gasp!”
7. Erin stands with the plate of meat, wiping away tears.
8. Erin plunges the knife into Ter'asanil in a rage. Erin: “You killed her, you bastard!” Sound effect: SLICE
1. The empty porch and open front door.
2. Erin runs out of the door.
3. Ter'asanil smashes through the door after her.
4. Erin stands frozen in the doorway, terrified.
5. Close up of hand reaching for a knife behind Erin's back.
6. Close up of hand gripping the knife.
7. The knife is held at the ready, behind Erin's back.
8. Ter'asanil rears up over Erin, roaring. Erin holds the knife behind her back. Ter'asanil: “This is the end for you slave!” Narration: “To be continued.”
